"Scare It Forward!" Chapters 5 & 6


It's time for another update regarding William Castle's 2011 "Scare it Forward!" project.  Over the course of the past week, Chapters Five and Six were posted.

The story so far: 
Summer- a time for sunshine, bathing suits, swimming in the river... and death.  Grant and four of his friends are enjoying the summer sun by spending the night along the banks of a river.  After Grant sees what he thinks is a dead body, evil begins to stalk the teens one by one... 

Years ago, a simple Mexican peasant girl caught the eye of the Don's son.  He wanted her, and have he would.  But all was not what she expected.  Soon the rumors brought to her by the servants, and his growing attention towards their twin sons would pull the family apart... and her actions would haunt the landscape for years to come...

And one of those years is now.  Aaron- one of the teens camping by the side of the river is found the next morning... barely concious, and terrified.  Torn between taking their friend to the hospital, and staying to give him a chance to rest and recover, the teens try to deal with Aaron's pleas for them to leave before, "she" kills them all.  That night, the mysterious female apparition visits Aaron... with Death keeping her company...

This week, the two chapters were written by a total of FOUR people.  Chapter Five was written by Heaven Leigh Eldeen, while Chapter Six was written by the team of:

  • Dan Dillard;
  • Will Newell; and
  • William Castle
What will happen next?  Only the next writer in the story knows for sure... but even then, the writer after them may give them a surprise.

    I absolutely love your story synopsis. I reminds me of the old radio days.

    Glad you like it! I used to love listening to the old radio shows- I've even got some episodes of "The Shadow" on audio tape. Would love to find "The Inner Sanctum" on CD!

Meridian: Kiss of the Beast (1990)

Sometimes, a director/producer will surprise you- such was the case during " Terrorpolooza 2012 " when I watched Charles Band's " Meridian: Kiss of the Beast " Catherine Bomarzini has come home after her father's death.  Needing company, she asks Gina to stay with her.  Soon, the two meet a wondering troupe of performers that Catherine invites to dinner at her castle. Catherine find herself pulled into a love triangle and an ancient curse that only she can break. After watching movies like " Evil Bong ", and " Demonic Toys ", I really wasn't expecting too much from this Charles Band movie- but I was pleasantly surprised by it. The story is actually quite interesting with lots of potential for eerie scenes, and character development.  It's a nice twist on the classic " Beauty and the Beast " story.  It's a bit slower than most of Band's other works, but moves smoothly and draws you with it. The Phantom of the Opera

  Not too long ago, I reviewed the silent horror classic, "Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror", and wound up being in the mood to view a few other of the silent horror films in my collection.  The next one I watched was "The Phantom of the Opera", starring Lon Chaney, Sr, and released in 1925.   A mysterious stranger has been threatening the star singer of the Paris Opera House- someone who has signs his letters simply as, "The Phantom".  This stranger wants to clear the way so his protege, Christine Daae can ascend to stardom herself.  Soon, her love for the Comte de Chagny collides with The Phantom's desire for Christine forcing both to take drastic actions in order to be with the one they love. " The Phantom of the Opera " actually underwent three periods of re-shoots and editing, due to poor reception and test viewings.  In 1930, a sound version was created- often assumed to be what is called "The Eastman House Print".  It is
