In my travels through the realm of horror movies old and new, foreign and domestic, I come across one that really engages my interest, and manages to entertain me from the first shot to the last.  Such was the case during this week's " What Movie Wednesday " feature... Revenge is a common theme in horror films, and it can provide a basis for an interesting, and entertaining film... and sometimes a guilty pleasure... Five members of a secret society for women are invited to a reunion at an isolated Mexican villa, with no clue as to who invited them.  Soon however, the five women are terrorized by a sinister figure seeking revenge for something that happened seven years before... "Sisters of Death" is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me.  It's not a great film, but for some reason, it appeals to me... not really sure why though. The story is pretty basic, though not without potential.  It's certainly strong enough to support the events in the film.  The first time I watched it, I was actually surprised by the ending, which is a good thing.  The rest of the events are a little disjointed and even a little illogical.   I reviewed this movie a couple of years ago on Facebook, and gave it a two star (out of five) rating.  Revisiting this film again for this review, I feel I was a little harsh- and found more to enjoy about it.   The members of the wealthy Heath and Morton families are being killed.  The only clues are bite and claw marks... and a strange scent.  Henry Laden- a reporter, and his photographer "One Shot" McGuire must figure this case out before "The Devil Bat" claims another victim... In honour of today being Valentine's Day... a day when we all want to win that "special" someone's heart (and possibly gnaw on it a bit), I thought I would revisit a horror movie based on this romantic day.  I remember watching the original "My Bloody Valentine" several years ago, but I can't remember enough to do a decent review of it- nor have I seen the recent remake of it. So, alas, I will have to shoot my arrows at the 2001 teen slasher move, "Valentine".  I wish I could say these were arrows of love, but alas (I do love that word), I can not.  Cupid's arrow misses the mark with this not so sweet gift.
